Exactly what the 50cc Nitro needed: a 100cc engine. Basically the same as the Yam’ Aerox, you get a reasonable top speed with the Nitro and the same low-profile 13in wheels as the 50. The Nitro is an expensive 100, but its looks seem to sell it well. Deals currently include free TPO insurance, datatag and two year warranty. Tested (as Yam Aerox) T&G 2.
Moto-roma  RoadRunner 50 | Original cost: £1194

The RoadRunner costs 100 quid more than Moto-roma’s Go-Go model and for that you get a helmet bay - but lose the topbox. 13in tyres help it ride over the potholes. Styling as we always say, is an individual thing, but Moto-roma do include heated handlebar grips and 12 months breakdown recovery to tempt you into their showrooms.

Sold around Europe under various guises, this little scoot from Her Chee now also wears the Moto-roma GrandPrix badge. Alloy wheels and twin front discs should score well with the kids. Although it still doesn’t seem as good VFM as many European scooter models, the price does include 12 months’ breakdown recovery.

Unlike the rest of Motoroma’s ‘RoadRunner’ range, not only does the 125 version look different, but it’s actually made by a different company in a different country. Cheaper than many 50cc ‘peds this 125 includes heated handlebar grips, glovebox, underseat storage, and in my opinion, better styling than some of the rest of the RoadRunner range. Reviewed T&G 12.

This Go-Go from Her Chee in Taiwan wears a Moto-roma badge. It’s pretty basic and uninspiring and features a top box (no underseat storage) and heated handle bar grips as standard. one year warranty and breakdown recovery included, although certain European scooters may seem more appealing and stylish for not a lot more cash. Tested T&G 4.

After a number of years at the shows, Her Chee finally get this scoot into production. Funky style, not too cramped, a small helmet bay, heated handlebar grips and 12 months’ warranty and breakdown recovery to tempt you into the showrooms. Probably the most uniquely styled ‘ped currently available, from Taiwan. Who’d have thought? Tested T&G 17.
