Piaggio’s popular Gilera Runner gets a brand new motor and a new name to launch it. Joining the world of fuel injected two-strokes the PureJet offers miserly fuel consumption and less pollution than its stablemate for just £100 more. Should be just as fast de-restricted, although tuning items are still thin on the ground. They’ll be there soon though.

Previously known as the SKP the Gilera Stalker is a good all rounder produced by Piaggio, loosely based around the Typhoon. It goes well once de-restricted. Good VFM, for a sporty looking scooter with a two year warranty. Subsidised insyrance available until April. Tested T&G 17.

Honda’s radical two-stroker Pantheon has been replaced by an all new fuel injected four-stroke machine that retails at a very reasonable price indeed. Avant Garde styling, a nippy motor, good storage, linked hydraulic discs, and an overall Honda’ness’ certainly add to the appeal. It seems now far more people can afford, and indeed desire this reputable brand.
