The new Satelis 125 Compressor is a congestion-busting vehicle in every sense. It is exempt from the London Congestion Charge and will keep ahead of the traffic in any city with ease thanks to its super charged engine. Yet it is legal for leaner riders aged 17 and over because a 125cc engine powers it. The key to its performance is a compressor and the Satelis is the first Maxi scooter to be equipped with one

Now this is more like it, Peugeot. This scoot has more attitude than a dog with two sets of balls. Don’t get me wrong, I saw the point of the basic Ludix idea, but that frame and styling literally cried out for the full Monty. Looking even more like an extra from a sci-fi movie than a basic Ludix, the Blaster is terrific fun to ride on and a great way to get from A to B. Worthy of the Sports Scooter section.

This tidy little scooter is potentially good basic transport, and the 100cc motor offers a much more usable range than an average 50cc scooter. With an immobiliser as standard, this scooter has no obvious flaws. Even car mags can see this is a winner and award it their seal of approval. A good price and big dealer network guarantee success for this Peugeot scooter with styling that undoubtedly appeals across the board. Tested T&G 13.

The Classic appears to be a Ludix One with larger wheels. As such the seating is not designed to carry a passenger, nor are there any indicators or underseat storage space. However this is the least expensive hi-wheeler in the UK, as long as 14in constitutes high wheels? The price includes a 2 year warranty so represents value for money.

Fitted as standard on the Executive version, the sophisticated ABS-PBS braking system, combining Integrated braking + Power-assistance + ABS, outclasses every other competing scooter on the market by offering total rider safety and an astounding reduction in braking distances. This makes major impact in difficult conditions: poor road traction, changes in road surface, and situations many riders generally cannot handle. The Executive version is also fitted with an Abus security chain which is anchored to the chassis of the bike within the storage compartment, and can be used to secure the bike to a railing or lamppost.

Think Elystar, but take away the ABS and fuel injection. Replace with carburettor and a fine pair of normal discs and you can have the advantage of £300 in your pocket. Comes with the advantage of Peugeot’s immobiliser, boa lock. Tested T&G 26.
