The GP from Moto-roma is now available in a 125cc format. The same luggage hook , glove compartment and unique heated grips are still to be found as standard. In our test we found the fuel consumption to be very good The scooter comes with12 months roadside assistance as well as the usual 1 year warranty. Tested T&G 37.

The cheapy chappy in the Moto-roma range is the Wasp. A back-rack (but no helmet bay), 12 month warranty and breakdown recovery, heated handlebar grips and drum brakes at both ends are included in the cost. If that’s all you need, then you could be happy with this little Wasp.

If you aren’t going to de-restrict in a quest for maximum performance then this air-cooled X version is cheaper and just as good. All the specifications are the same as the water-cooled one, apart from the obvious and a rear drum brake, rather than a disc.

The Speedfight has become legendary in the modern British scooter market. Peugeot’s potent air-cooled engine is used (with a top speed of around 60mph), and suspension revisions since day one have improved the handling when flat out. A rear disc brake, pull-out ‘boa’ lock, and a coded key immobiliser both come as standard, and the powerful twin headlights are a ‘one-on, one-off’ function like the Gilera Runner. The styling had a minor make-over a while back that has kept it fresh and no doubt that’s partly why it’s currently the best selling over 50cc scooter on these shores. As well as standard colours it’s also available guise, as the WRC 206 replica celebrating Peugeot’s success in the World Rally Car Championships. These scoots also feature alloy foot plates and a rear spoiler too.
