Available in 50cc and 100cc versions and new to these shores from PGO is the Big Max. Similarly styled to the PMX but different, not least in the pricing department. If money is an object to you then it’s worth a look. The brand has been on our shores for a while and spares availability is not an issue.

The Snake has chunkier tyres than the Trend, almost giving it that sought after ‘off road’ style. This would explain the higher seating over the other two. Again underseat storage and a seat hook are supplied. As with the others in the Ludix range various accessories are available as add ons as well as the standard 2 year warranty.

The cheapy chappy in the Moto-roma range is the Wasp. A back-rack (but no helmet bay), 12 month warranty and breakdown recovery, heated handlebar grips and drum brakes at both ends are included in the cost. If that’s all you need, then you could be happy with this little Wasp.

Small, lightweight Taiwanese off-roader with funky looking bodywork. Lower panels are colour impregnated to be scratch resistant, the rear rack is useful, but otherwise it’s not really anything to get too excited about. Apart from the styling, the cycle parts are shared with most other PGOs. A free disc lock is the current enticement.

The Classic appears to be a Ludix One with larger wheels. As such the seating is not designed to carry a passenger,nor are there any indicators or underseat storage space. However this is the least expensive hi-wheeler in the UK, as long as 14in constitutes high wheels? The price includes a 2 year warranty so represents value for money.

The Elegance is the refined version of the Classic, supplied with indicators, under seat storage and a front disc brake. Electric start is standard, as are foot rests and a dual seat, so passengers are an option. Again, this Ludix can be fitted out with all manner of extras.
