Sold around Europe under various guises, this little scoot from Her Chee now also wears the Moto-roma GrandPrix badge. Alloy wheels and twin front discs should score well with the kids. Although it still doesn’t seem as good VFM as many European scooter models, the price does include 12 months’ breakdown recovery.

Piaggio’s popular Gilera Runner gets a brand new motor and a new name to launch it. Joining the world of fuel injected two-strokes the PureJet offers miserly fuel consumption and less pollution than its stablemate for just £100 more. Should be just as fast de-restricted, although tuning items are still thin on the ground. They’ll be there soon though.

The air-cooled Super 9, we are told, has more power than its LC brother.
The framework is built for the European market with ample leg-room, good handling and a good sized helmet bay. Instrumentation and lighting are high spec for the 50cc classes. Subsidised insurance is an available option on the Super 9 (subject to status).Tested T&G 18.

Despite lightweight build and an average specification, a good reputation has seen them sell in stupendous numbers in Italy, prompting rapid company growth. De-restriction is fairly simple, and results in a very rideable 50mph scooter.
