The Ark is a nice scooter and this cheaper version certainly is too. Powered by an air-cooled Minarelli engine. It has a 50mph top speed when de-restricted, but suffers in terms of practicality by having too small a helmet compartment. Quality components abound, a two year warranty, and a fairly competitive price mean that Noah shouldn’t be the only person you know with an Ark.

Well this is one of the greenest and technologically advanced moped you can currently buy, and yet it still looks great, handles well and will stop on a sixpence. You should start saving money straight away as the fuel injected DITECH motor uses considerably less fuel and two-stroke oil than a conventional 50cc engine, and with major environmental benefits. The DITECH engine is the first scooter motor that Aprilia have built themselves, but a one-year warranty means that shouldn’t worry you. PGO’s PMX ‘Sport’ scooter boasts a 190mm front disc and 12in alloy wheels to separate this from the standard PMX model, as well as slicker tyres and a hugger front mudguard. A very competively priced sporty offering from Piaggio. Fast, funky and good handling plus a sporty pipe keep this one popular with the teen market. The DT is the air-cooled, rear drum brake version and the DD is liquid-cooled with a rear disc. Goes even better when fully derestricted. Various insurance deals available plus Piaggio’s two year warranty, although we recommend extra security due to its popularity. Tested T&G36.
